GIORGI VESHAPIDZE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Iliauni Professor Giorgi Veshapidze will conduct a public seminar titled &#8220;Quantum Computing with Cold Atoms in 2D Optical Tweezer Array&#8221; at 18:00 on May 24 in the T302 Room of Ilia State University.<\/p>\n<p>Quantum computing of ultracold atomic gases trapped in 2D Optical Tweezer Arrays (with a period of multiple microns) is an emerging, rapidly developing, and promising direction of quantum computer realization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In this realization of the quantum computer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the nuclear spin of an atom trapped in optical tweezers acts as a qubit;<\/li>\n<li>the qubit is addressed by modulating the intensity of the optical tweezers (inducing the shift of nuclear electric resonance)<\/li>\n<li>qubits are manipulated by resonant excitation of valence electrons in the outermost shell of the atom (using an optical band laser);<\/li>\n<li>adjacent qubits entangle (which is necessary to build a universal set of elementary quantum gates\/operations) by exciting them to a Rydberg level (also with an optical band laser);<\/li>\n<li>qubits are read out using a digital camera and a microscope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This quantum computing scheme provides specialists with significant advantages compared to other alternatives.<\/p>\n<p>The speaker will present an overview of elementary theoretical fundamentals, experimental methods, and the latest achievements.<\/p>\n<p>The information about Prof. Giorgi Veshapidze is available at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.iliauni.edu.ge\/business\/veshapidze-giorgi\/%20%20%0d%0d\">https:\/\/faculty.iliauni.edu.ge\/business\/veshapidze-giorgi\/\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Working language:\u00a0<\/strong>Georgian<\/p>\n<p><strong>Date and time:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 May 24, 18:00<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Room T302, Ilia State University. 3\/5 Kakutsa Cholokashvili Ave.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attendance is free.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Iliauni Professor Giorgi Veshapidze will conduct a public seminar titled &#8220;Quantum Computing with Cold Atoms in 2D Optical Tweezer Array&#8221; at 18:00 on May 24 in the T302 Room of Ilia State University.
