School of Engineering at Ilia State University got among the three finalists in the GRACE HOPPER AWARD in a category for a program or project. A program award is given to a program, project, or community initiative that supports the technical participation of girls and women in the form of skills development, advertising campaigns or otherwise.

The main goal of Ilia State University Engineering School is to interest girls in technical and engineering fields, to help them choose an engineering career with successful women mentoring in this field, which includes coding, engineering training and participation in fun competitions.

The school has already been organized in 5 streams and it has 150 graduate girls, 100 of whom are students from schools in Tbilisi and 50 students
from schools in the region.
