(Note: The program is currently offered exclusively in Georgian).
The Master’s Program in Software Engineering was developed in 2011 and updated in 2020. The program may be revisited at the beginning of each academic semester to improve the teaching-learning process.
Number of positions: 20 vacancies.
Type of internal university exam: Written exam.
Degree awarded: Master of Software Engineering.
Short Description:
Graduates of the program can be employed in organizations of various profiles in the private and public sectors, be it information systems, media technologies, medical technologies, manufacturing, financial services, consulting, educational or others.

Program Structure:
To fulfill the requirements of this Master’s program, students must accumulate 120 credits, including:
- Block of mandatory courses – 66 credits;
- Block of optional courses – 24 credits;
- Master’s thesis – 30 credits.
The last semester of teaching is devoted to work on the master’s thesis, which is an important component of the program and serves to effectively solve a problem/challenge in various fields, research a problem/challenge using the latest software engineering methods and approaches, and solve it or improve existing solutions for new software or existing software to create a new module.

Admission Requirements:
Admission to the Master’s Program in Software Engineering at Ilia State University is based on the results of the Unified Master’s Exam, an English Language Proficiency Test, and an Internal University Exam.
While it is recommended, it is not mandatory for applicants to have a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related areas.
