On July 15, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Ilia State University and NTI Georgia, the largest Spanish project and Construction Management Company. It was signed by Dimitri Japaridze, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Technology and Education of Ilia State University and Ivan Nogales Trigero, Executive Director of NTI Georgia.
Under the memorandum, NTI Georgia will participate in the development of architecture, construction and civil engineering education programs. The aim of the cooperation is to develop programs as well as to promote students’ career development.
“A memorandum of understanding is signed today between the Faculty of Business, Technology and Education of Ilia State University and the Spanish company NTI Georgia. The company, unconditional leader in the field of civil engineering, architecture, provides a wide range of services to both the private and public sectors. The memorandum and this relationship envisages sharing the company’s experience with the university curricula, qualification papers, practical projects. We will be able to reflect the industry experience, the latest trends, first of all in our curricula, their list of issues, content, as well as in the research activities of the School of Technology. The university itself, our graduates will contribute to the success of the company, its activities in terms of direct involvement in the employment market, “- said Dimitri Japaridze, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Technology and Education of Iliauni.
“Involvement of employers in general and our European colleagues in particular is very important for our civil engineering and architecture programs, because, unfortunately, Georgia is still part of the post-Soviet engineering school, we are moving to Europe and educational institutions should play an important role in this’’ – said Vakhtang Balavadze, Professor of Engineering at Ilia State University.
NTI Georgia will take part in various program or extracurricular activities planned by the University and will invite university representatives and students to participate in thematic events organized by the company.
NTI P&C brings together highly qualified staff: civil and industrial, public works engineers, environmental experts, renewable energy specialists, etc.
The company has extensive experience in implementing major infrastructure projects in Western Europe, Latin America and North America.

We expect mutual benefits within the framework of the memorandum. We are trying to establish the Spanish standard in Georgia.
“Our main goal is for students to receive international education, to get acquainted with international standards. Although construction has started in Georgia, infrastructure is developing, we can’t compare Europe even on a large scale. Therefore, we need a new generation to learn all this, to get acquainted with this experience and use it again and again for the development of the country.’’
