SALiS, the Natural Sciences Education Center of Ilia State University (ISU), and “Science on Stage Georgia” are inviting primary, basic and secondary level teachers of natural science subjects to participate in the Third National Festival.
The festival motto is “Teachers for Teachers”.
The Third National Festival will be held on June 24, 2023.
At the festival, natural science teachers will have the opportunity to present research projects and innovative ideas, which they implement with their students.
The following fields will be presented at the festival:
Natural sciences for youngsters(Projects for kindergarten, pre-school and primary school students)
Natural science education for sustainable development
(Project should demonstrate how STEM education contributes to the achievement of sustainable development goals)
- Technology in natural science education
- (Projects involving coding, information and communication technology, network security, virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI))
- Diverse learning approaches in natural science education
- (The project should demonstrate original methods of natural science teaching – inclusive education, especially gifted students, cooperation between senior and junior students, multinational or multilingual classes, etc.)
- Creative approach in natural science education – STEAM
- (Teaching natural sciences through integration with various subjects – art, sports, music, technology and others)
- Low-cost technology in STEM education
- (use of low-cost technology – low-budget projects)
- STEM for future teachers
- (projects that have been developed during teacher training programs).
The works must be presented as models and posters at the festival.
Assessment criteria:
- The idea of the project is original
- The project promotes the introduction of research-based learning
- The project contributes to the growth of students’ interest in natural sciences
- The project promotes education for sustainable development
- The project is related to students’ daily life
- The project implementation is feasible in a school setting and requires reasonable costs
The projects selected by the jury of Science on Stage Georgia will be invited to participate in the Third National Festival.
The four best projects will be selected within the framework of the National Festival, which in turn will participate in the Science on Stage International Festival in Turku, Finland on August 12-15, 2024.

At the National Festival, the project may have several authors, but, by the requirements of the international organizing committee, only one out of four winners will present the project at the International Festival.
Those who intend to participate in the National Festival must register, submit a brief description of the project (maximum number of words – 250) and a corresponding video (maximum duration – 2 minutes) in the registration form available at https://bit.ly/3JjuMj7
The deadline for sharing projects via Google Forms is May 28.
An information meeting will be held via Zoom for teachers interested in participating in the National Festival on March 20, at 19:00.
